So Much is Happening at Bodine High School:

  • Philadelphia Volunteer Corps - Students (9th -12th) are encouraged to participate in local community service projects while getting familiar with many issues regarding global education, equal rights, hunger and more.  Almost always a  local Saturday Service Project.  BODINE currently has at least 30 student participants. We welcome more!!!
  • National Honor Society - a prestigious academic club, well-known nation wide! Members are currently tutoring students who can use the support across the academic areas and doing various service activities. Student leadership leads! Let Mrs. Mixon (room 303), Mrs. Bassman (counselor)or Mrs. Anstotz(counselor) know if you would like tutoring. We will help set it for you.
  • S.T.E.M. at the Philadelphia Seaport Museum - Student participants are expanding their knowledge base and gaining hands on experience building ships with the experts. ALSO, select students are winning scholarships to college!
  • Temple University Community Collaborative Programs - For more detailed information about the programs listed below, click here.
    • POWER Internship - Temple University’s Community Collaborative trains students about sensitivity, diversity, and all the “isms” that often get in the way of collaborating and getting the best job done for the most number of people.
    • Temple Youth VOICES - students develop the collective power of youth to make positive change in their communities.
    • POPPYN - is a youth news show based in Philadelphia. Students cover events and explore topics of interest to youth in Philly.
  • Summer Search - 10th graders are nominated by their teacher, and can pursue the rigorous application process. It is well worth it. Free summer programs for college enrichment, whole person growth and development and personalized mentorship.
  •  V.I.E.W. (Villanova Initiative for Engaging Woman) - Program for girls through our partnership with Villanova. See brochure and apply, click here.
  • Philadelphia Futures - Provides amazing college guidance, academic and leadership support, and mentorship.  Find out more here.
    • Sponsor A Scholar (9th graders apply) 
    • College Connection (end of 10th apply and sometimes beginning of 11th grade)
    • Ellis Trust for Girls - eligible girls can strengthen their academic skills, develop their character and passions.  Ellis Trust also gives eligible girls grants to help cover basic school-related needs, such as uniforms and supplies.
  • WOMEN of TOMORROW - Changing the world for the better one woman at a time…Find out more at the website.
  • G.S.A. (Gender & Sexuality Studies Association) - Join us every Wednesday at 3:00 pm in room 408 with Mr. Kolman. All are welcome to discuss and share LGBTQIA issues and topics and to plan an LGBTQIA pride month assembly program.
